On the plus side, the skin on the Grip goes great with the Joy-Cons. The other thing that would be ideal is if you could buy Joy-Con skins on their own, and it would also be great if the Joy-Cons had a skin on their back. The skin fits well around the screen itself, with appropriate cutouts for the speakers, but does not extend as far out as would be ideal, so there’s a non-skinned border between the Switch skin and the Joy-Con skins. The portion of the skin covering the main Switch is more disappointing. The skin for the Joy-Con controllers’ top is perfect, and they include skins for the top and bottom of the Joy-Con strap add-on, which is awesome. There are some great and some disappointing aspects of the Switch skin layout. Everything fits great and really satisfies my personal 'purple spacethetic' deal, though don't expect to be fooled into thinking like 'waow the skin looks like it's just a natural part of the switch rather than a vinyl cover!' Cuz that's not what it's about folks.Īll-in-all: great fit, great look, some challenging bits but overall totes worth on initial application. But the joycons themselves were way easier than I expected and the screen and dock were no problemo.Ī complaint I could have about it is that you have to punch out any holes in the skin – including the little squares on the middle controller handle thingy, but those were the MOST difficulty I had with the process, and I got through it just fine. Surprisingly easy to apply! There were some challenging points like the joycon-controller-middle thing (the kajigger that comes with the switch) – the lights in the middle were a bit tricky – and the safety sliders with the wrist straps (so thin!).
